Build a wheelchair ramp for Patricia in Raleigh
Help Patricia regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐บ๐ธ Raleigh, North Carolina, United States882 views
Patricia has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Patricia can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Patricia's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Praying for you, Irene. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
