Build a wheelchair ramp for Patricia in Madrid

Help Patricia regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Patricia has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Patricia can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Patricia's family will cook lunch for the team. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Madrid.

gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Jabalpur.

          • sending good thoughts, Lucía. Looking forward to the next update.
