Build a wheelchair ramp for Nicola in Rome
Help Nicola regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇮🇹 Rome, Lazio, Italy533 views
Nicola has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Nicola can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Nicola's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending love, Mattia. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Sending good thoughts, Mattia. Wishing Nicola a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
keep going, Mattia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best.
Good luck, Mattia. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
