Build a wheelchair ramp for Miles in Newcastle
Help Miles regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇦🇺 Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia365 views
Miles has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Miles can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Miles's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Keep going, Brian. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
