Build a wheelchair ramp for Luís in Salvador
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Salvador.
🇧🇷 Salvador, Bahia, Brazil556 views
Luís has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Luís can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Luís's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Mumbai this morning. Blessings.
Thinking of you. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings
