Jean has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Jean can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Jean's family will cook lunch for the team. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • good luck, Juliette. Wishing Jean a smooth procedure and a full recovery.

    • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 17 years in retail I know how hard it is to ask for anything. God bless.

      • stay strong, Juliette. Shared this with my family.

        • Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.

          • Hang in there, Juliette. Hope the doctors have good news. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
