Jack has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Jack can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Jack's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you so much.

  • Hope things get better soon, Brooklyn. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out.
