Build a wheelchair ramp for Harold in San Diego
Help Harold regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States1,178 views
Harold has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Harold can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Harold's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in București this morning
