Build a wheelchair ramp for Hailey in Oakland
Help Hailey regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 California, United States777 views
Hailey has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Hailey can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Hailey's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

hope things get better soon, Lincoln. Shared this with my family
gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Recife.
So sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Khulna but we're thinking of you. Take care.
