Build a wheelchair ramp for Dorcas in Nairobi
Help Dorcas regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฐ๐ช Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya160 views
Dorcas has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Dorcas can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Dorcas's family will cook lunch for the team.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Take care, Barasa. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
