Build a wheelchair ramp for Delphine in Montpellier

Delphine uses a wheelchair and cannot leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Delphine has used a wheelchair since 2020, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Delphine can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Delphine's family will cook lunch for the team. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Good luck, Océane. I hope things turn around soon. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Montpellier.

    • Rooting for you. Shared it with a few friends. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.

      • Sending strength, Océane. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Love from Pretoria.

        • Best of luck, Océane. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Metz.
