Build a wheelchair ramp for Camila in San Jose

Camila uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Camila has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Camila can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Camila's family will cook lunch for the team. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Praying for you. Hope you get there. After 27 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.

    • Keep going, Pablo. It takes guts to ask. Well done.

      • hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Gangnam but we're thinking of you.
