Build a wheelchair ramp for Beau in San Jose
Help Beau regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 San Jose, California, United States1,114 views
Beau has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Beau can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Beau's family will cook lunch for the team.

sending love, Gerald. Hope this works out for you.
Wishing you peace, Gerald. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless
Thinking of you, Gerald. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Guarulhos so I could bring a meal. God bless.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Fort Worth this morning. Blessings.
Good luck, Gerald. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
best of luck, Gerald. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
hope it all works out, Gerald. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of San Jose.
stay strong, Gerald. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Take care, Gerald. Hope the doctors have good news. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless
Good luck. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
Keep going, Gerald. I hope things turn around soon.
