Build a wheelchair ramp for Bas in Amsterdam
Help Bas regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇳🇱 North Holland, Netherlands227 views
Bas has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Bas can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Bas's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
wishing you the best. Get well soon. Don't give up.
Keep going. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
