Build a wheelchair ramp for Anyango in Dar es Salaam
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Dar es Salaam.

Anyango has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Anyango can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Anyango's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Keep going. Wishing Anyango a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Sent it to 9 people at work
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 19 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
wishing Anyango a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We're a small family in Nashik but we're thinking of you.
hang in there, Peter. Hope the doctors have good news. Wish I lived closer to Osaka so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Dar es Salaam.
Sending good thoughts, Peter. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Johannesburg!

Thanks for sharing this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Dharan.
