Build a wheelchair ramp for Abril in Cartagena
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Cartagena.
🇨🇴 Bolívar, ColombiaPosted Oct 1, 2026354 views
Abril has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Abril can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Abril's family will cook lunch for the team.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Wishing you peace, Regina. I hope things turn around soon. After 28 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Cartagena!
