Brasília landslide relief - the families of Eastgate Lane
Neighbors in the families of Eastgate Lane are rebuilding after the landslide; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇧🇷 Distrito Federal, Brazil747 views
The landslide hit the families of Eastgate Lane on 15 June. My home was one of 16 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $520
• Roofing sheets and timber: $820
• Clean water and purification supplies: $290
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220

So sorry you're going through this, Mateus. More neighborhoods should do this. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Brasília.
Thank you. If you're in Brasília I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Fair thing to want to know.
Praying for you, Mateus. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. After 27 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Badagry
