Bongani needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery
Bongani is six months into recovery and would welcome a mentor with lived experience.

I'm six months into recovery from stimulant addiction. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week.
I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like.
I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later.
Thank you so much.

Hang in there, Bongani. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest.
Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Thinking of you. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
Sending love, Bongani. Shared this with my family. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 35 people at work.
sending love. Looking forward to the next update. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Pretoria.
