Berhanu can't leave home - help build a ramp

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Addis Ababa.

Berhanu has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Berhanu can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Berhanu's family will cook lunch for the team. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
