Benjamin can't leave home - help build a ramp

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Leeds.

Benjamin has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Benjamin can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Benjamin's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

thinking of you. Wishing Benjamin a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

    • Stay strong. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Leeds.

      • So sorry you're going through this, Ethan. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Corpus Christi

        • Best of luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Dar es Salaam

          • get well soon. Love from Nashik.

            • Hope it all works out, Ethan. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

              • Thinking of you. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Surrey donated after I showed her your page

                • Praying for you, Ethan. Looking forward to the next update. God bless.
