Bas's final semester of a nursing degree in Amsterdam
Bas has worked and saved for five years to study a nursing degree; a $4,800 gap now stands between him and graduation.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a nursing degree at Amsterdam Polytechnic, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,800.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Amsterdam Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,800 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,800
• Final term tuition: $1,750
• Exam and lab fees: $250
Every share and every dollar helps.

How is Bas doing now?
You're not alone, Bas. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this, Bas. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Mombasa but we're thinking of you.
good luck, Bas. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Sent it to 7 people at work
Wishing you peace. Your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Amsterdam!
Keep going, Bas. Hope you get there.
