Baobab Park needs a free library and reading room - Tian's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Diego are raising $1,800 for a free library and reading room at Baobab Park.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,800.
It will serve about 458 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Safety equipment and signage: $260
• Permits and inspections: $390
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
