Bahir Dar flood relief - the Hillcrest neighborhood
After the flood, families in the Hillcrest neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The flood hit the Hillcrest neighborhood on 11 September. My home was one of 13 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $800 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $115
• Tools and labor for repairs: $115
• Food parcels for displaced families: $190
• Roofing sheets and timber: $380
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Saba?
Hope it all works out, Saba. Hope you get there. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Los Angeles.
You're not alone, Saba. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted.
