Back to business - Paisley's comeback in Los Angeles

Paisley has run a barbershop for nine years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $3,000 will put it back on its feet.

Los Angeles
For nine years I have run a barbershop in Los Angeles. In May, a storm that collapsed the roof took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $3,000 goes: • Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $1,100 • Initial stock: supplies: $570 • Shop repairs and licensing: $650 • Working capital for the first month: $680 With deep gratitude, Paisley

Updates from Paisley

  1. Small update. $1,135 so far, I made the first payment toward initial stock: supplies.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 28% now ($855). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

Wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Belo Horizonte!
