Back to business - Mariana's comeback in Medellín
Mariana lost a freezer and scales to a long illness and repossession and needs $1,100 to reopen a fish stall and support the family.

For four years I have run a fish stall in Medellín. In May, a long illness and repossession took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $610
• Initial stock: the first catch: $85
• Shop repairs and licensing: $170
• Working capital for the first month: $235
Thank you for reading my story.

I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Medellín.
Sending good thoughts, Mariana. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update
