Back to business - Fani's comeback in Medan
Fani has run a laundry service for nine years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $450 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a laundry service in Medan. In May, a storm that collapsed the roof took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $60
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $330
• Shop repairs and licensing: $60
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending good thoughts, Fani. Hope you make a strong comeback. After 15 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
