Back to business - Chanchai's comeback in Bang Khen
Chanchai lost a cold-storage unit to the demolition of the market and needs $1,150 to reopen a small grocery stall and support the family.
🇹🇭 Bang Khen, Bangkok, Thailand1,008 views
For fifteen years I have run a small grocery stall in Bang Khen. In June, the demolition of the market took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $670
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $185
• Shop repairs and licensing: $125
• Working capital for the first month: $170
Thanks for reading all this.

You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Cincinnati.
So sorry you're going through this. Hope this works out for you. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Ikeja.
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Bang Khen.
thinking of you and your family. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Thinking of Bang Khen.
Sending love, Chanchai. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
