Babar was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July. The oncology team at Karachi Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Babar is 26, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Karachi Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $640
• Scans and lab work: $140
• Transport to Karachi Cancer Centre: $70
