I'm Axel, 18, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study biomedical science. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. I hope life is good to you.

  • Thanks for sharing this, Axel. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 17 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Houston.

    • so sorry you're going through this, Axel. Shared this with my family. I hope October is when things finally get easier. God bless.

Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Houston.

        • sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
