Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in San Francisco.

Aurora has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Aurora can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Aurora's family will cook lunch for the team. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Thinking of you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of San Francisco.

    • You're not alone. This could happen to any of us. All the best!
