My nephew, Heitor, is 12 and in Grade 11. Heitor loves school but English writing has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The board exam is in December. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend an hour or two a week, in person in Londrina or online, for about ten weeks. Heitor is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in English writing, you could change the course of Heitor's year. I hope life is good to you.

  • Wishing you the best. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

    • Best of luck, Bruno. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Londrina.

      • Sending strength. Shared this with my family. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

        • Hang in there, Bruno. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Bogotá.

          • Hope things get better soon. I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 32 people at work. Love from San Francisco.
