My daughter, Malathi, is 16 and in Grade 11. Malathi loves school but accounting has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The university entrance exam is in April. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend an hour or two a week, in person in New Delhi or online, for about twenty weeks. Malathi is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in accounting, you could change the course of Malathi's year. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

I hope things turn around soon. After 13 years in accounting I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Love from Bengaluru

    • hang in there. Hope this works out for you. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.

      • Good luck, Indira. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Fort Portal.

        • Wishing you peace, Indira. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best
