Amparo is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Orlando Community College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,150. The registrar has said Amparo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Amparo has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Amparo would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Amparo isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Orlando Community College bursar's office.
