Alexander needs a stair-climbing aid - help us make it happen
Alexander needs a stair-climbing aid that the health system won't fund; the cost is $7,250.
🇺🇸 United States1,550 views
Alexander lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,250.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Alexander could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $7,250 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $7,000
• Delivery and set-up: $85
• Fitting and training sessions: $165
Glad we found this place.
