Alberto needs a lift to the Venice Kidney Centre - can you help one day a week?

A rota of drivers to the Venice Kidney Centre would keep Alberto on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Alberto has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Venice Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Alberto can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 25 km each way. Alberto is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Glad we found this place.

Keep going, Samuele. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 19 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

                    • hope things get better soon, Samuele. Get well soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
