ACL reconstruction for Lennart: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in November is out of reach without help covering $4,800 of the cost.

Lennart was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Stockholm Orthopedic Institute recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,800 short.
my husband has been in and out of Stockholm Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Lennart struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Lennart won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Travel and lodging for the family: $130

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lennart!
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. post-operative medication is the biggest at $220. Good question.
