For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,000. It will serve about 300 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,000 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $360 • Materials: $1,500 • Permits and inspections: $140 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
