A mentor in cybersecurity could help Abigail with a portfolio, interviews and first-job strategy.

I have worked as a taxi driver for 8 years, and I'm 55. After my children starting school, I decided to move into cybersecurity, and I have completed a self-study course with a project portfolio. What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my capstone project, a realistic view of the job market in California, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming. I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for four months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time. All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. God bless

    • Hope you get there. Sent it to 7 people at work. Love from Los Angeles.

      • Wishing you the best. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.

        • Praying for you, Abigail. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Sandton so I could bring a meal.

          • Small businesses are the heart of San Jose. Hope you're open again soon. Blessings.
