Aarón was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in January. The surgeon at Lexington Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,050, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,450 short.
my son has been in and out of Lexington Regional Medical Center since January. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aarón struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Aarón won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
