A youth football pitch for the Jacaranda community hall: help our neighbors in Sandton
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $400 for materials.
🇿🇦 Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa1,657 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 138 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
• Materials: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
Thank you so much.
