We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $950 for materials.

Piraeus
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $950. It will serve about 218 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $950 goes: • Materials: $500 • Permits and inspections: $155 • Safety equipment and signage: $105 • Tools hire and delivery: $190 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($350 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 7% funded and the first invoice got paid this week. - Katerina
