A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Lowell
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Baobab health centre yard that will serve 497 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,900.
It will serve about 497 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Materials: $3,250
• Permits and inspections: $180
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $240

Small update. $66 so far, I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
