A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Belo Horizonte
Volunteers in Belo Horizonte are raising $1,100 for a youth football pitch at the Jacaranda community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,100.
It will serve about 576 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Materials: $880
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $105
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
