A weekly visit for Tatsuya, 72, who lives alone in Sapporo

I'm writing for my neighbor Tatsuya, who's 72. Tatsuya lives alone in Sapporo, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Tatsuya loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
