A weekly visit for Salma, 94, who lives alone in Luxor

I'm writing for my neighbor Salma, who's 94. Salma lives alone in Luxor, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives 316 kilometers away. Salma loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
