A weekly visit for Naresh, 94, who lives alone in Kathmandu

I'm writing for my neighbor Naresh, who's 94. Naresh lives alone in Kathmandu, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Naresh loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
