I'm writing for my neighbor Nadine, who's 92. Nadine lives alone in Munich, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Nadine loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Wishing you the best, Peter. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.

    • Rooting for you, Peter. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Munich

      • wishing you the best. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Palmira but we're thinking of you. Love from Palmira

        • Wishing Nadine a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out.

          • you're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
