A weekly visit for Heather, 92, who lives alone in Springfield

Heather lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Heather, who's 92. Heather lives alone in Springfield, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Heather loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you so much.

  • hang in there. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

    • take care, Victoria. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.

      • So sorry you're going through this, Victoria. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.

Keep going. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Mumbai
