A weekly visit for Eva, 88, who lives alone in Tacoma

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Eva is asking for.

Tacoma
I'm writing for my neighbor Eva, who's 88. Eva lives alone in Tacoma, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Eva loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you for reading my story.

  • You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.

Stay strong, Luna. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Leeds.

      • I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Tacoma

        • Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Madurai

          • Sending strength, Luna. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Faisalabad but we're thinking of you. All the best.

            • Take care. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best
