A weekly visit for David, 72, who lives alone in Thika

David lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

Thika
I'm writing for my neighbor David, who's 72. David lives alone in Thika, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. David loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you so much.

  • praying for you. Hope the doctors have good news. I'll check back for the next update. All the best

    • wishing David a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Thika.

thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Quetta donated after I showed her your page. God bless

        • Thinking of you and your family, Maina. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
